As an avid musical theatre attendee, and because it is not possible for most of us Canberrans to travel to the regions to see other musical theatre, I would like to acknowledge what I considered to be the top musical performances in Canberra/Queanbeyan in 2009:

Best Musical: Chess; Best Director: Kelda McManus (Miss Saigon); Best Musical Director: Lucy Bermingham (Chess); Best Choroegraphy: Annette Sharpe (Guys and Dolls); Best Actor: Stephen Pike (as Anatoly, Chess); Best Supporting Actor: Adrian Flor (as The Arbiter, Chess); Best Actress: Jacinta Le (as Kim, Miss Saigon) and Lexi Sekuless (as Florence, Chess); Best Supporting Actress: Janie Lawson (as Anita, Westside Story); Best Costumes: Guys and Dolls (Annette Sharpe); Best Set: Westside Story (Jim McMullen).

Off course I meant to say Fiona Leach (not Annette Sharpe) for Best Costumes for Guys and Dolls.
